Product Overview

Designed for 30-75HP skid-steers with a compact structure, this backhoe has a maximum digging depth of 8′2″, and additional bucket sizes are available.

Its curved boom protects the backhoe from unnecessary damage while preventing the ground from falling back into the hole. Dual cylinders deliver strong, consistent movement across the entire 180-degree range.

Maintenance is easy, as all pivot points come with greasable pins; plus, hardened steel bushings are installed on all main pivot points to reduce wear.

Easy-to-use hydraulic stabilizers help prevent tipping, and the bucket teeth are replaceable—swap out worn or damaged ones to get back to work quickly.

A universal quick attach plate enables easy connection to most skid-steers.

When the boom swings to its extreme ends, rubber pads cushion it for a controlled stop, and rubber footpads on the stabilizers keep their teeth from tearing up your driveway.

FAQs

Will the BHS820 backhoe attachment fit my skid steer?

The Farmry BHS820 is designed for 30–75 HP skid steers and uses a universal skid steer quick-attach mounting system. Before ordering, confirm your machine's attachment interface, auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure, lift capacity, machine weight, and operating limits. A compatible quick-attach plate does not automatically mean the hydraulic system is compatible, so both mounting and hydraulic requirements should be checked before purchase.

What hydraulic flow and pressure does the BHS820 require?

The BHS820 requires 5–7 GPM of hydraulic flow with a specified operating pressure of 2,320 PSI, and a flow divider is included. Always compare these requirements with your skid steer's auxiliary hydraulic specifications before connecting or operating the backhoe. For more guidance on matching GPM and PSI, see our Skid Steer Attachment Hydraulic Flow Guide.

How deep can the BHS820 skid steer backhoe dig?

The BHS820 has a maximum digging depth of 8 ft 4 in, while its digging depth at a 2-ft flat bottom is 8 ft 2 in. These measurements describe different digging conditions, not different backhoe sizes. It also provides 128 in of reach from the swing post, 3,220 lbs of bucket digging force, and 2,120 lbs of dipper boom digging force for trenching, drainage, landscaping, and general excavation. Learn more about how digging depth, reach, and backhoe size affect performance in our Backhoe Dimensions Guide.

What size bucket comes with the BHS820?

The BHS820 includes a 15-inch digging bucket, offering a practical balance between trench width and material capacity. It is well suited for general digging, farm drainage, water lines, landscaping, small culverts, and property-maintenance projects. Additional compatible bucket sizes are available for narrower or wider excavation jobs. See our Backhoe Bucket Width Guide to compare 12", 15", and 18" backhoe buckets.

What jobs is the BHS820 best suited for?

The BHS820 is designed for skid steer owners who need additional digging capability for trenching, drainage, irrigation and water lines, landscaping, ditch maintenance, root removal, property improvement, and general excavation. Its combination of 8'4" maximum digging depth, 128" reach, and a 15" bucket makes it a versatile choice for deeper, general-purpose excavation around farms, rural properties, and job sites.

How does the curved boom help during excavation?

The BHS820's excavator-style curved boom provides greater clearance around obstacles and improves visibility of the trench and bucket compared with a traditional straight-boom design. It can also help when digging deeper trenches, working close to excavation edges, or loading excavated material, while the dual swing cylinders provide controlled movement across the 180° swing arc.
