Product Overview

The HSG24 PTO-Driven Hydraulic Control Stump Grinder is a professional equipment specially designed for efficient handling of various stumps. With core design focused on comfortable, safe operation and high adaptability, it is equipped with a full hydraulic control system, compatible with CAT.1/II category hitches, and also fits the QUICK HITCH of ASABE AD11001. It delivers excellent performance on farms, woodlands and other sites requiring stump removal, capable of handling stumps of different hardness and sizes, effectively eliminating obstacles to land use caused by residual stumps and facilitating subsequent land development and utilization.

The machine is equipped with a hydraulic flow control valve, allowing free adjustment of cylinder movement speed according to the host machine condition and different users' operating habits; its operation logic aligns with user habits, enabling cutting depth adjustment simply via the hydraulic control lever in the tractor cab. For tractors with only one set of hydraulic output interfaces, the HSG24 PRO is an option—it comes with a control valve to ensure compatibility with this type of host machine.

What are the benefits of choosing a HSG24 stump grinder?

If you own a tractor with hydraulic control and PTO, the HSG24 hydraulic stump grinder is an excellent choice. Leveraging the core advantages of its hydraulic drive system, it delivers stable power output even when the load changes—while the host machine remains stationary—ensuring continuous and efficient operation to reduce stump removal time.

In core design, it prioritizes comfortable, safe operation and high adaptability. Equipped with a full hydraulic control system, it is compatible with CAT.1/II category hitches and QUICK HITCH, delivering outstanding performance on farms, woodlands, and other sites requiring stump removal.

The machine comes with a hydraulic flow control valve, allowing free adjustment of cylinder movement speed based on the host machine’s condition and different users’ operating habits. Its operation logic aligns with user habits: cutting depth can be adjusted directly via the hydraulic control lever in the tractor cab. Whether your tractor has 1 or 2 sets of rear-mounted hydraulic interfaces, the HSG24 can meet your needs.

Available in models covering scenarios from small yards to heavy-duty construction sites, it operates with low vibration and low noise—enhancing operational comfort while reducing safety hazards. It fully meets the high efficiency and reliability requirements of professional operations.

Do stump grinders come assembled? And if not, how long does assembly take? How do I maintain my stump grinder?

The stump grinder will be delivered to you in modular components, which require simple installation, similar to building blocks.

Convenient maintenance is one of the important considerations we took into account when designing it. Accoring to the installation of munual, Including the time for unpacking and preparing the tools, it will take approximately 1 hours to assemble .

There are bearings which will need routine greasing, as detailed in the step-by-step maintenance guide in the manual.

Overall, there are several key aspects that you need to check regularly. However, we have made efforts to ensure that our equipment is easy to maintain, so that you can continue to handle the tree stumps. All these contents are introduced in our user manual, which can be found in the black tube on the machine or downloaded in PDF format here.

How does a hydraulic stump grinder work?

1. Installation Stage
The core of hydraulic stump grinder installation is securing the machine and preparing for safety. First, it needs to be firmly connected to the vehicle, and the vehicle’s wheels/tracks must be locked. Then, connect the PTO shaft and hydraulic interfaces. Meanwhile, the operator must wear full protective gear such as goggles and earplugs to avoid injury from wood chips during subsequent operations.
2. Commissioning Stage
During commissioning, first start the power source to drive the hydraulic pump, then activate the hydraulic motor to test the rotation of the grinding wheel and adjust the wheel speed according to the stump material. Next, operate the hydraulic lever to check the grinding wheel’s lifting, angle adjustment, and machine movement functions, ensuring smooth response of all components to prevent malfunctions during operation.
3. Operation Stage
When working, first use hydraulic control to slowly lower the rotating grinding wheel to the top of the stump, then grind from top to bottom gradually. At the same time, flexibly adjust the machine’s position and wheel angle to ensure uniform crushing of the stump surface. If stump regrowth needs to be prevented, the grinding wheel can be lowered further below the ground to remove hidden roots—wood chips generated during grinding will be automatically discharged through the chip trough. After operation, first stop the grinding wheel and lift it up, then turn off the machine’s power source. Finally, check the hydraulic oil level, replace worn teeth, and clean up residual chips to complete the entire workflow.
