Product Overview

Designed for 45-120HP tractors, this compact 3-point linkage backhoe has a 9′4″ max digging depth and optional additional compact bucket sizes. Its curved boom protects the backhoe from unnecessary damage and stops soil from falling back into the hole, while dual cylinders deliver strong, consistent movement across the full 180-degree range. All pivot points have greasable pins for easy maintenance, with main pivot points fitted with hardened steel bushings to reduce wear. Easy-to-use hydraulic stabilizers help prevent tipping; replaceable bucket teeth let users quickly swap worn or damaged ones to resume work fast. When the boom swings to extreme ends, rubber pads cushion it to a controlled stop, and rubber footpads on stabilizers keep their teeth from tearing up driveways.

FAQs

What is the best backhoe for me?

Choosing the right tractor backhoe attachment starts with matching your tractor’s minimum horsepower, overall tractor weight, the wheelbase, and 3 point hitch category. Farmry 3 point tractor backhoe models are engineered for specific tractor ranges to ensure safe operation, proper digging depth, and long-term durability.

First, confirm your tractor’s PTO HP, hitch type (CAT I or CAT II), and rear lift capacity. Using a backhoe that exceeds your tractor’s capability can reduce stability and place unnecessary stress on the tractor frame, while undersizing may limit performance during demanding digging and trenching jobs.

If your budget allows, the PRO-series tractor backhoe offers smoother control and higher efficiency for frequent excavation tasks. For users prioritizing value, Farmry’s standard backhoe attachments remain a reliable solution, delivering dependable performance at a more accessible regular price.

What is the difference between the basic and PRO version?

Both the standard and PRO models are PTO powered, self contained, and operate independently of the tractor hydraulics, ensuring consistent performance regardless of differences in the tractor’s hydraulic system.

  • Standard models use high-quality domestic hydraulic valves, providing stable and dependable operation for general backhoe work.
  • PRO-series models are equipped with imported Walvoil (Italy) hydraulic valves, delivering noticeably smoother control, more precise bucket rotation, and better modulation during swing and placement.

For operators who work in tight areas, require fine control around the swing pivot, or run the machine for extended periods, the PRO version offers a clear upgrade in handling quality and operator comfort.

What is the main difference between BH600, BH700, BH820, and BH920?

The main differences between Farmry tractor backhoe models are digging depth, reach, hydraulic capacity, and hitch compatibility.

  • A higher model number provides greater depth, increased loading reach, and stronger overall power.
  • The BH600 series does not include a grapple thumb and is suited for lighter-duty work.
  • The BH700, BH820, and BH920 models are equipped with a hydraulic grapple thumb for handling rocks, brush, and debris.
  • Hitch compatibility:BH600: 3 point Category 1BH700 / BH820: 3 point CAT I / CAT IIBH920: 3 point CAT II

Always review the product specifications to confirm bucket sizes, reach from center line, and tractor requirements before purchase.

What type of maintenance do Farmry backhoes require?

Farmry backhoe attachments are designed for straightforward, routine maintenance to support long service life and consistent performance.

Recommended maintenance includes:

  • Greasing all pivot points and the dipper stick cylinder
  • Inspecting the bucket, pins, and bucket cylinder digging force components for wear
  • Checking hydraulic hoses, fittings, and operating pressure
  • Verifying oil level in the self contained hydraulic tank
  • Inspecting stabilizer arms, stabilizer spread, and rubber footpads
  • Ensuring the PTO pump connection is secure and operating smoothly
  • Confirming safety decals remain visible and intact

Following the maintenance schedule in the user manual helps protect critical wear areas and ensures replacement parts can restore performance when needed.

Does the backhoe come assembled? How long does assembly take?

Farmry tractor backhoe attachments ship partially assembled to reduce transport size and protect components during shipping.

Final assembly typically takes several hours, depending on experience and available equipment. Detailed instructions, images, and videos are provided, and no modification of the tractor’s hydraulic system is required.

Once attached to the 3 point hitch, the PTO powered, independent hydraulic system allows the machine to operate smoothly and consistently, enabling you to begin digging, trenching, and material handling with confidence.

If questions arise during setup, our support team is available to assist and ensure proper installation.

How to check if the PTO extender needed or not if purchasing tractor powerer backhoe?

For the backhoe models compatible with certain tractor versions (BH600, BH600 PRO, BH700, BH700 PRO, BH820, BH820 PRO, BH920, and BH920 PRO), interference may occur during installation between the PTO pump and the tractor, preventing full engagement with the tractor’s PTO shaft (see left figure below).
When purchasing the above models, please pay close attention to the following:

1. Ensure there is sufficient clearance around your tractor’s PTO shaft (as shown in the right figure below, with a dimension of 7-3/4").

2. Please refer to the following dimensional specifications of the PTO pump to verify compatibility with the PTO shaft area on the rear of your tractor.

3. The PTO pump cannot be installed if any components are located within the shaded area of the pulley pump (dimensions: 160×224 mm / 6.3×8.8 inches) when mounting to the tractor’s PTO shaft area.
If insufficient clearance exists due to the above conditions, a PTO driveline extender will be required.(see above right picture)
This can be purchased on the Farmry website or at most agricultural equipment dealers.
