Product Overview

Built exclusively for large scale farms and ranches, this unit delivers core strengths of high capacity cutting universal compatibility and long term safe operation. It fits tractors ranging from 35 to 85 HP and works with both category 1 and category 2 hitches.

The premium cutting system comes standard with 5 high speed spinning discs running at 2623 RPM. Each disc holds two free swinging double edged blades. Consistent ground contact pressure is maintained during operation. Combined with a wide adjustable working angle spanning - 25° to + 90°, the attachment handles sloped ground low lying areas and diverse mowing conditions with ease.

Its fully upgraded safety protection setup features an automatic rear swing function on the cutting head to dodge rocks and other debris and prevent equipment damage. A friction torque limiter is preinstalled on the PTO drive shaft to absorb sudden impact loads and fully safeguard all drive components. Hydraulic cylinders manage lifting and lowering with an automatic lock for transport. A cable release drop system enables straightforward safe operation.

The mowing deck uses helical gear drive technology. Blades can be replaced quickly with minimal effort. This design extends overall machine service life cuts downtime and boosts field productivity.

I mow mostly alfalfa and orchard grass, and this DHM7 handles both just fine. It’s heavier than expected, so make sure your 3-point arms are tight. Once set up, it cuts smooth and lays a clean windrow. The gearbox stayed cool after 4+ hours of work. Had to grease a few fittings after first use, but that’s standard maintenance. Delivery was prompt, no shipping damage.

Been using the DHM7 for about three weeks on my 45HP Massey. The 81" cutting width really speeds things up on larger fields. It takes some practice to get clean corner turns, but once you figure it out, it runs steady. Blades came sharp, and no issues with balance. Crate was solid, though lifting it off the trailer took two of us. Good value overall for the size.

Awesome price, and Heavy duty buildStarted with a drum mower but had technical issues, sent it back and got a disc mower. Haven’t mowed with it yet, but it looks heavy duty and well built. A 7-foot, 1100 lb disc mower under $6k is a great value.

What sold me on the DHM7 was the price compared to other 81" disc mowers. It showed up within 7 days, which was faster than I expected. The finish on the paint was a bit scratched, but no mechanical damage. Mows wide and fast, and does well with medium-length hay. I called support once about belt tension, and they were patient and knowledgeable. No major complaints.

FAQs

What horsepower is needed for a 7ft disc mower?

Working Width and Horsepower for 7 ft Disc Mowers

A 7 ft disc mower typically has a working width of approximately 84 inches and is designed to operate with 35–85 HP tractors. The mower's cutter bar uses multiple high-speed discs to deliver peak performance even in tough field conditions, including thick crop and rough ground.

The right horsepower ensures that your machine maintains blade speed and torque, especially while cutting stocky hay or wet forage. Undersized tractors may struggle to handle the mower’s weight, reducing overall productivity.

For easy operation and a clean cut, always match your tractor HP to the mower’s working width and power demand.

What is the difference between a sickle mower and a disc mower?

Working Width and Cut Quality: Disc vs. Sickle Mowers

A disc mower, especially a 7 ft model, is designed for higher-speed operation and better cutting performance in rough ground, uneven fields, or thick crop. It features a cutter bar with multiple spinning discs that slice through forage cleanly—even in challenging conditions.

In contrast, a sickle mower uses reciprocating blades, which can clog or slow down in heavy vegetation. Sickle bars tend to be narrower in working width and require more maintenance.

Choose a disc mower for better ground handling, reduced downtime, and easy removal of dense forage across a clean, level field.

What is a 7ft disc mower?

Working Width Explained: What You Get from a 7 ft Disc Mower

A 7 ft disc mower offers a working width of about 84 inches, making it an ideal choice for small to mid-size hay operations. It’s designed with a low-profile cutter bar that uses rotating discs to provide a clean cut in thick crop, stocky hay, and rough terrain.

The machine typically weighs between 900–1,200 lbs and is compatible with tractors in the 30–60 HP range. It’s a popular tool among operators who value tough construction, easy handling, and high productivity per pass.

Many 7 ft disc mowers are influenced by Italian engineering, emphasizing durability, simplicity, and efficient operation in variable field conditions.

With the right tractor, a 7 ft disc mower is the perfect tool for efficient, high-quality hay and forage harvest.
