Very quality piece of equipment...note, I did buy a couple of cans red spray paint so I could repaint the orange so it would match my little Massey Ferguson! Anyway, it cuts great and works well behind my subcompact tractor. It was well packaged and shipped very fast. I would recommend tightening all of the pre-installed components. The tires/wheels have 4 nuts and bolts holding them together and one of the wheels started to come apart on the first use. It is fixed now!

Every thing was perfect from the ordering to delivery to using the mower.
Only thing that went bad was the center cutting blade baffle install. There is no instructions in the manual to what it is or where to install it except in the back of the manual diagrams it shows it. to me this could have been put on at the factory, but if not, it should be the first thing you put on while the deck is off the tractor and could be lifted up vertical for the installation.

FAQs

What Is the Difference Between a Finish Mower and a Regular Mower?

Finish mowers for tractors are designed to deliver a professional-grade, clean cut over large, maintained areas such as sports fields, parks, sod farms, and golf courses. These units provide even distribution of grass clippings through a rear-discharge system, giving turf a polished, uniform look.

In contrast, regular mowers—like push or standard rotary models—lack the coverage and consistency needed for large lawns or uneven terrain. For flat or gently rolling landscapes where appearance and efficiency matter, a 3-point mower is the right choice to achieve quick work and consistent results. For example, the 59-inch FM150LN model is well-suited for residential estates and medium to large lawns.

How Tall of Grass Can a Flail Mower Cut?

Flail mowers can typically handle grass up to 12–18 inches tall, making them ideal for rough, overgrown areas where standard finish mowers may struggle. They're especially useful on uneven ground or in areas with brush and debris, where deck damage is a concern.

While they don’t produce the same manicured finish or even grass clipping distribution, flail models are excellent for managing dense vegetation and neglected fields. If you’re deciding between types, consider the grass height, field condition, and whether you want a polished look or just functional clearing.

Why Do Commercial Mowers Cut Better?

Commercial-grade equipment, including finish mowers for tractors, delivers superior performance in high-volume environments like sod farms, golf courses, and public parks. Their reinforced decks, optimized airflow, and high blade speeds ensure even distribution of clippings for healthier turf and a cleaner finish.

These machines excel on slightly uneven ground and are built for durability and productivity. For professionals managing large lawns or high-visibility green spaces, they offer quick work, longer life, and better mowing results every time.
