Purchased this mower for my John Deere 1025R. Within an hour had it connected and was mowing weeds and shrubs 4-5 feet tall without difficulty. Had to slow down in the thick a bit but did a good job. Solid build machine. Well worth the money that I paid. Fast shipping and well packed

This mower is awesome

Nice mower for small farms. Runs well behind my 25HP tractor. It struggles a bit in thick brush but handles tall grass just fine. What impressed me most was the quick delivery and how well it was crated. Definitely not a toy, solid build for the money.

For the price, this mower gets the job done. I’ve used it on 6 acres so far with no major issues. The blades came sharp, but one of the belt guards had a slight dent—nothing serious. Farmry’s support team replied quick when I asked about setup torque.

Got the LFS61 for my compact tractor. It arrived faster than expected, packaging was solid. Setup took some patience since the instructions weren’t very detailed, but once running, it mows clean and quiet. Great fit for maintaining food plots and light pasture work.

How big can a flail mower cut?

The Farmry LFS61 offers a 61-inch cutting width, which is ideal for clearing large areas efficiently. Whether you're cutting brush, weeds, or rough material, this flail mower is built for rough cutting applications while maintaining optimal cutting performance on both flat ground and uneven surfaces.

How much horsepower do you need for a flail mower?

This model is made for tractors with 15 to 35 horsepower. It comes with a pto shaft included, and the external gearbox making ensures a reliable power transfer from your tractor to the mower, giving you the strength to handle tough jobs with ease.

What is a flail mower best for?

Flail mowers are perfect for managing rough terrain, overgrowth, and dense vegetation while still gentle enough to leave turf grass relatively undisturbed. Their aggressive cutting design works well in the down position, offering better ground contact and more thorough mulching in challenging areas.

What should I check on my tractor's PTO before using a flail mower?

Before connecting the LFS61 flail mower, make sure your tractor has a 540 RPM PTO output, a Category 1 three-point hitch, and enough horsepower (15–35 HP). Also, inspect the PTO shaft length and safety shield—they must be compatible and properly greased. Always disengage the PTO before adjusting or servicing the mower to avoid accidents. Proper PTO setup ensures safe, smooth power transfer and reduces stress on both the tractor and mower.

Can a flail mower handle rocks?

While it's best to avoid rocks to prevent wear, the LFS61 is designed for smooth performance even in rugged conditions. Its sturdy construction and flexible blade system help it absorb shock and glide over obstacles much better than conventional rotary cutters or deck mowers.
